# PrintReady DPI — User Guide

**Mergify Digital · Price: $4.99/month (via Whop)**

## What it is

PrintReady DPI is a print-prep utility for print-on-demand and Etsy sellers. You upload a design image, and it prepares a print-size PNG for you:

- Cleans up the image's transparency (alpha) — near-transparent noise in the alpha channel is cleaned out
- Pads / fits the design, centered, onto a 4500 × 5400 pixel canvas (the standard tee-print size)
- Saves the result as a PNG with its resolution metadata set (stamped) to 300 DPI

What it honestly does **not** do — read this before buying:

- **It does not upscale and does not add detail.** Processing is downscale-only. A small design (for example, a 1024 × 1024 AI-generated image) placed on the 4500 × 5400 canvas still contains only its original pixels of real detail. Stamping "300 DPI" metadata does not create resolution that was never in the source image.
- **It does not guarantee acceptance.** It does not guarantee that Etsy, Printful, Printify, Amazon Merch, or any other marketplace or printer will accept the file, or that the printed product will look sharp at full size. Always inspect a print proof.

Used correctly, it is a fast fix for the mechanical problem — wrong canvas size and missing/incorrect DPI metadata causing 300-DPI rejections — not a cure for a low-resolution source image.

## Who it's for

- Etsy and print-on-demand sellers whose uploads are rejected or flagged for canvas size or DPI metadata
- Sellers preparing existing designs at the standard 4500 × 5400 tee size

## Requirements

- A Whop purchase of PrintReady DPI ($4.99/month)
- A modern web browser and an internet connection
- The access/license instructions delivered through Whop after purchase
- Your source design in PNG, JPEG, or WebP format, within the tool's limits (audited limits: up to 8 MiB and up to 24 megapixels)

## Getting started

1. **Check out on Whop.** Purchase PrintReady DPI from Mergify Digital on Whop.
2. **Follow the Whop delivery.** Access/license instructions are delivered through Whop after purchase. Use them to reach PrintReady DPI and sign in / activate with your license.
3. **Run one design first.** Process a single representative design and inspect the result closely before doing a batch of designs the same way.

## Step-by-step: prepare a design

1. **Prepare your source file.** Start from the highest-resolution version of the design you have. PrintReady cannot recover detail from a smaller copy.
2. **Upload the image.** Upload your PNG, JPEG, or WebP design to PrintReady DPI.
3. **Process it.** Run the print-prep processing. PrintReady cleans the alpha, centers/fits the design onto the 4500 × 5400 canvas (downscaling if the design is larger than the canvas), and saves a PNG stamped at 300 DPI.
4. **Download the result.** Save the processed PNG with a clear name (for example, add a `-printready` suffix) so you do not confuse it with your source.
5. **Inspect before uploading anywhere.** Open the downloaded PNG at 100% zoom and check: edges of the artwork, any transparent areas, and how much empty canvas surrounds the design. Remember that a small source stretched across a large canvas will look soft — that is a source problem, not a processing failure.
6. **Upload to your platform and order a proof.** Upload the processed file to your print-on-demand platform, and order or preview a physical proof before listing widely or running ads.

## Tips

- Feed it the biggest, cleanest source you have. Every fix downstream works better from a larger original.
- If your source is small, consider printing it at a smaller physical size on the product (a smaller design at true effective resolution looks better than a full-front print of an upscaled-looking small file).
- Keep your unprocessed originals. PrintReady output is a derived file; your source is the master.
- If a platform still complains, read its exact message — many rejections are about file format, color, or physical print dimensions rather than the DPI metadata field itself.

## Troubleshooting

- **Upload is rejected.** Check the format (PNG, JPEG, or WebP), the file size (up to 8 MiB), and the image size (up to 24 megapixels). Export a compliant copy and retry.
- **The processed design looks blurry or soft.** The source image did not contain enough real pixels for the print size. PrintReady does not upscale or add detail. Use a higher-resolution source, or print the design smaller.
- **Transparent areas look wrong.** Inspect the source's alpha channel — stray near-transparent pixels in the source are what the alpha cleanup addresses; heavily damaged transparency may need fixing in an image editor first.
- **The marketplace still rejects the file.** PrintReady does not guarantee acceptance. Copy the platform's exact rejection reason, check its current print-file requirements, and contact support (below) with that message if the file appears to meet them.
- **Sign-in / license is rejected.** Use the license exactly as delivered through Whop, and confirm your monthly subscription is active in Whop.

## Disclaimer

PrintReady DPI is a software utility provided as-is. It cleans alpha, pads/fits an image to a 4500 × 5400 canvas, and sets 300 DPI metadata; it does not upscale images, create additional source resolution or detail, perform an effective-DPI quality guarantee, or guarantee acceptance of any file by any marketplace, printer, or print-on-demand platform, or the quality of any printed product. As the software's own output notes: DPI metadata does not create additional source resolution — physically inspect the print proof. You are responsible for your source artwork, your rights to sell it, and checking proofs before selling.
